Christmas Charity Quiz

By December 7, 2007No Comments

Happy Christmas to you all, and best wishes for a prosperous New Year.  Rather than send volumes of cards our preference is to support a number of charities throughout the year.  This year we also bring you something which is a bit more fun, our Christmas Quiz, with a prize for the winner of £250 to a charity of your choice.

Thank you to Rensburg Fund Management for coming up with the idea.

Q1 – Why did Silver Birch in Liverpool receive media attention earlier in the year?

Q2 – What is the link between Tearaght Island and Kavo Greko?

Q3 – Why is the odd one out and why?  President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov of Turkmenistan, Gordon Brown or the Brazilian Football Association??

Q4 – Which actor / actress spoke the final words in a play at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre before it closed earlier this year?

Q5 – Betfair is a betting exchange and not a bookmaker.  So why did they have to pay out £1 million to Clive Smith in March?

Q6 – The town of Tewkesbury was affected by this summer’s floods more than most because it lies at the confluence of which two rivers?

Q7 – Rihanna (featuring Jay-Z) was Number One for 10 weeks this summer with which appropriately titled song?

Q8 – ‘I’m a pub quiz question for years to come’ said former professional soccer player Mark Bright.  So. What’s the question?

Answers must be emailed back to us (enquiries@DWCifa.com)  by Wednesday 26th December 2007, and the winner will be notified within 10 working days.  GOOD LUCK.

Tie Breaker (do make sure you attempt this)

What do you predict the closing level of the FTSE 100 to be on 31st December 2007?

PS the quiz is not open to staff or family members.
