As the end of the tax year approaches, a quick reminder that ISA applications ideally need to be with us by Wednesday 2nd April, to ensure that we have time to check them (and correct any errors).
Buy online? Do remember that you can buy online through our web site ( www.DWCifa.com), right up until the last minute, 11.55pm on 5th April, though we wouldn’t recommend leaving it this long in case something goes wrong.
Is it a good time to invest? The classic answer is that if you are a long term investor the best time to invest is when you have the money. Our own view is that in more than 20 years we have never encountered such entrenched fear in key markets (credit and equities). For level-headed investors fear equates to opportunities, and historic fear might just equate to historic opportunities. On this “fear” criteria there has never been a better end of tax year in which to make your ISA investment. It isn’t all about equities (even though we think there is some great value right now, as set out in earlier notes).
For example, JPM Cautious Total Return has gone up 7.2% over the last year after charges, with very low volatility, and was barely touched by the credit crisis. Artemis Strategic Bondhas a yield nigh-on 7%, with scope for capital growth on top. There are lots more ideas on our web site www.topfundsguide.com.
Need more applications? If you need any further applications please email back or ring. For speed we can email you back an application (if you prefer this route to buying online).
